My name is Kine Hvinden Dahl. I’m a 26 year old MA Business IPOS student at Leeds Metropolitan University, and I come from Norway.
My educational background is very different from what I’m taking a master degree in. I first started to study art, and really loved it, later my passion felt on design and interior, that resulted in a title as an interior consultant. But to get a job in that industry you have to be able to make yourself known and build a strong and good network. In Norway there are high competitions for these jobs and it’s only in the past five years or so, the job market has been good. That’s why I decided to take a different turn in my education, so that I could have a wider experience and not only belong to one type of segment in the job sector.
I stared on a bachelor degree and studied Innovation and Entrepreneurship and combined that with Organisation and Management studies, these studies can also be related to the interior studies, if I should wish to start my own interior agency etc. When I was doing my bachelor degree I got the opportunity to be an exchange student and take one semester in Bangkok, at BUIC (Bangkok University International College). This was a good experience; you learn so much more about yourself and get the chance to be a part of another completely different culture. This was also one of the reasons that I chose to do my master degree in another country, in addition to be even more competitive in the work environment back home in Norway. Since my bachelor degree holds different contents of courses, I started on the MA Business IPOS, the individual programme of study; so that I have the opportunity to choose the modules that I think is most relevant and interesting for my future career.
